Abstract

This research aims to explore the integration of green hydrogen in Indonesia's national energy policy, focusing on the role of PT PLN (Persero) in supporting the sustainable energy transition. Green hydrogen, which is produced using renewable energy, is expected to be an important solution for the decarbonization of the industrial and transportation sectors. This study adopts a qualitative method through a case study of PT PLN, investigating internal elements such as PLN's renewable energy infrastructure, as well as external elements such as the government policies and international demand for green energy. The results of the research using the SWOT analysis method show that although PLN has strengths in terms of renewable energy infrastructure, the main challenges in the development of green hydrogen include high production costs, global competition, and immature regulatory policies. This study recommends that PLN must enhance strategic collaborations, pioneer hydrogen production technology, and conform to pro-green energy policies to guarantee green hydrogen market growth sustainably. In summary, PLN has enormous potential to dominate green hydrogen development in Indonesia, but the above challenges should be addressed through cooperation, pro-green policies, and effective technology development.
