THE INFLUENCE OF ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS IN THE WORKPLACE A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND FUTURE DIRECTION

Abstract

Workplace romance merupakan hubungan yang bersifat nonplatonis yang dapat terjadi di tempat kerja antara dua anggota organisasi yang memiliki kesepakatan dan komitmen bersama melebihi sebatas hubungan rekan professional kerja. Hubungan romansa di tempat kerja dapat terjadi disebabkan interaksi yang terjadi antara dua anggota organisasi secara intens di tempat kerja. Workplace romance memberikan dampak positif dan dampak negative bagi lingkungan tempat kerja. Workplace romance dapat menyebabkan tersebsarnya gossip di tempat kerja, kecemburuan terhadap sesama rekan kerja sehingga menimbulkan konflik di antara rekan kerja di tempat kerja. Artikel ini menggunakan metode systematic literature review yang meliputi tahapan identifikasi artikel, penilaian kualitas dan tahapan analisis dengan tujuan untuk dapat mengeksplorasi faktor penyebab, moderator, dan konseksuensi yang disebabkan oleh perilaku workplace romance. Dengan pencarian artikel yang terindeks scopuss dengan kata kunci “workplace romance” dengan jumlah artikel yang ditemukan yaitu sebaanyak 144 artikel, kemudian melakukan tahapan penyaringan artikel dengan penilaian kualitas artikel dan memilih artikel yang menggunakan metode kuantitatif sehingga mendapatkan sejumlah 25 artikel yang relevan yang disesuaikan dengan tahapan kriteria pemilihan jurnal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku workplace romance dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor seperti faktor budaya organisasi, interaksi antar karyawan, dan dinamika hierarki status jabatan di temppat kerja sehingga dapat menyebabkan dampak seperti penurunan terhadap kepuasan hasil kerja hingga meningkatnya tingkat turnover intention akibat tersebarnya gossip negative di tempat kerja dan adanya gangguan psikologis berupa perasaan cemas yang dialami oleh karyawan. Arah penelitian ini diharapkan mampu menekankan perlunya eksplorasi lebih dalam terhadap dimensi budaya dan psikologis dari perilaku workplace romance.
